The weekend of 16^th/17^th April 2016 was the first round of the Good Vibrations backed Supercharged Outlaws series. It was time to catch up with one of the main contenders for the 2016 series the Mark Windridge/Dave McKenzie, Good Vibrations sponsored ‘Team Thing’ Dodge Daytona.

The transition from ‘The Thing’ altered to the current funny car saw steady progress through 2015 and with many hours and a lot of hard work over the winter period the car is looking and sounding in fine fettle.

The team have not only been working on the car over the late autumn 2015 and 2016 winter period but has been seen at several static displays and drag racing demonstrations spreading the word far and wide.

Plans for the team in 2016, now that Mark Is licenced to run ‘Nitro’ are to hopefully be ready to take that step at the Santa Pod ‘Dragstalgia’ event in July, fingers crossed it will happen and another step for one of the friendliest and most approachable teams in the Supercharged Outlaw series.

Round 2 of the series is just two weeks away, further progress and an update will be included in Nostalgia Drag World and hopefully a catch up with the thoughts of Mark and Dave on the Good Vibrations backed car so far.
