Nostalgia Classic at Quaker City Motorsports Park
2017 Memorial Day Weekend
By Wayne Gierke

The Nostalgia Classic at Quaker City Dragway in Salem, OH was probably one of the shortest events for me. 3 hours to get there 4 hours of shooting 3 hours home. That was not too bad considering it was supposed to rain all day.

All the AA/Gassers , Southern Slingshots and Great Lakes Funny cars got in 2 passes which made for a quick, fun show. I went with the idea in mind that we would be rained out and have the event on Memorial Day. Never had rain issues until I had gotten within 15 miles of home that night before all hell broke loose weather wise. Still had a ball reunited with friends I had not seen all winter and got to shoot some great action

For the Scottrods AA/Gassers, Brian Spotts in his beautiful 1948 Anglia "IT'S CRAZY" was top dog with a very nice 5.61 1/8 on a 5.60 index for the day.
