Editor's note: This years coverage of the Blue Suede Cruise is dedicated to Douglass "John" Shapiro. John was the founder/owner/publisher/editor of Cruisin' Time Magazine. John left us on July 14th, 2016. The Blue Suede Cruise was always a favorite event of Johns. Rest In Peace, John. We love you brother!   In addition to the action on track by the NOSTALGIA DRAG RACING LEAGUE, a significant number of gassers were also present, running in both Nostalgia Gas and Competition Gas classes based on indexes. The well-known GEEZER GASSERS was represented by a total of 9 members running in the two GAS categories above. In the end, it was Craig Murray winning Nostalgia B/GAS, Kirk Dupre winning Nostalgia C/GAS, and Gary Raber winning Nostalgia D/GAS. Not a bad outing for the GEEZER GASSERS.
