Best Laid Plans Of Mice And Men.....
Or Believe It When It Shows Up At Your Door

Here I am, another deadline. Nothing is complete and ready to give to the big guy. Unfortunately, everything is tied together via the Hippo. Waiting on a few things, I had hoped would be here. I had the big idea I would show a few photos as a "raw" roller. You know, all the updates undone and back to a configuration more in line with it's date of birth. Be that as it may, I will shoot for next month. Par for the course when it comes to the overly optimistic restoration game. Not to say nothing has been happening, as the scheckels have been trading hands for a number of other pieces of the puzzle. Fingers crossed for the remainder to show up soon and not pose a threat to the soiree in Bakersfield. My thoughts on a series of articles chronicling the "new breed" has slowed as well due to a healthy workload on their part. It will happen soon... It's been a crazy year so far, in so many respects. Business has flourished and grown. I see more projects starting to happen. I know of a couple that are being kept under wraps for now, that will surely be mind-blowers. Good things are on the horizon. I often hear the oft-used remark, " times are tough" , or " this economy is terrible, thanks to_____" . I call B.S. As noted, I have been busier than ever. As it pertains to our realm, a couple of the chassis guys I know have 3,4...or more on the jigs and tables. The molds are popping out carbon fiber and fiberglass at a pretty good clip. Young guys who are 3 generations removed are building front engine dragsters and it seems automotive events as a whole are increasing. Maybe it's not at a tidal wave rate, but, it is still happening and that has to be looked upon as a good omen. There is always going to be belly aching and moaners. Sure, the stuff is expensive and depending on your place in life, funds may be a bit precious. I remember hearing the same old crap when I was a kid, I uttered it a few times too. Steadily though, the drive and desire to attain these goals can take years... but you get there. This is a short one. I need to get out there and make things happen. The season is starting or is in full swing in some arenas. Get out there and sit in the stands, patronize these events. Things seem to be changing in a good way and I see a lot of kids starting to show up at some of the events I go to. That momentum needs to be sustained. See ya next month... that's the plan.
