The Inaugural 808 Fuel Kauai Nostalgia Drags got underway on Saturday, September 3, at Kauai Raceway Park after dodging Hurricanes Madeleine and Lester that had been headed our way.
Kauai Raceway Park is located right at sea level with the Pacific Ocean just beyond the pits; temperatures were in the high 80s throughout the day.
One of the big players to come out and play was Riley Takayama driving the Matsuda Racing Fiat Topolino with a blown alcohol burning big block Chevy running in the 7 second zone all weekend long.
Winner of Pro Nostalgia was John Ishibashi running consistent 8 second passes all day in his gorgeous 1968 Camaro. Donaven Gomes was the Nostalgia Eliminator winner in his Rob's Towing sponsored Ram 50 truck.
808 FUEL would like to thank the Garden Isle Racing Association for allowing us to put on our event at their track and would also like to thank all of our sponsors, racers, crews and spectators that came out to support us.
