5TH ANNUAL DON CARLTON MEMORIAL NOSTALGIA PRO STOCK RACE
Article by Rodney Knocks and Melissa Mounds
This years Don Carlton Memorial Nostalgia Pro Stock Race was held at the legendary Mooresville Dragway on Oct 23rd and 24th in Mooresville NC. This event is put on every year by Jeff Rudisill and Gena Ellis who also head up the Southeast Nostalgia Pro Stock Association. Nostalgia Drag World has covered this race in the past. We have seen it grow larger and larger each year mostly due to the huge commitment and dedication of Jeff and Gina who also manage to find the time to race a Nostalgia Pro Stocker. This year despite the threat of inclement weather and issues caused by the on going pandemic, 21 Nostalgia Pro Stocks made the trip to Mooresville Dragway to participate in this outstanding tribute to the late Don Carlton. Mooresville Dragway owners Donnie and Trina Gibbs had the track fully prepped and the grounds in excellent condition. The Nostalgia Racers were welcomed by the Mooresville Dragway staff with open arms. The Gibbs ran the event like a Swiss watch and everyone including the guys from Nostalgia Drag World had a great time. We have already made our reservations for next years race. If you are a fan of Pro Stock cars from the sixties, seventies and eighties THIS IS A MUST-SEE SHOW. We will see you next year.
