From the Editor's Desk
By Connell R. Miller
There are a number of reasons that Nostalgia Drag World has garnered so many dedicated readers over the years, but the most obvious ones, of course, are the articles and photographs from our world-wide group of contributors. This month we are dedicating this issue to the ‘shutterbugs’ who, month-after-month, have given us so many wonderful images from this world of nostalgia drag racing.
Your humble editor-in-chief usually sits back and does some editing, writes articles occasionally, and spouts off on various topics related to our sport each issue. This month, however, I thought I would post a few of my own pics from waay deep in my files, with a few from the 1958 NHRA Nationals and the Texas State Championship, held the following weekend at Caddo Mills, Texas. This will give our readers a good look at the state-of-the-art drag car from that period, less than a decade from the birth of the sport. The last two were taken some five decades later, showing in some way my continuing love of tramping up and down the dragstrip with a camera hanging around my neck!
Hope you enjoy ‘em along with the rest in this special issue.....
