The Rocky Mountain Superchargers returned to Kansas International Dragway as part of their Spring Nationals event May 21st. The Top Supercharged Thunder funny car of Joe Wetsch and Jim Chase faced off against the Furches Racing Firebird in a two out of three match race that saw Chase blast to a 6.44 at 210 mph in his '57 Chevrolet. The Chase family took the low e.t. honors home with them to Bismarck, North Dakota.
Colorado's Tom Furches added to his points lead, however, with two solid runs. Together with his victory last weekend at Pueblo Motorsports Park, Furches has earned a three round lead over the Top Supercharged field.
The inaugural winner of the Competition Products Challenge was named at the Wichita event, Rod Urish. He brought his '48 Anglia gasser to the event and wowed the crowd with every pass. Urish resides in McLouth, Kansas.
Next up for the Rocky Mountain Superchargers is a show at Julesburg, Colorado, for the big Shorty's event at the track which first began operating in 1958!
