Pam Conrad: Photographer
by Darrell Conrad
Many years ago Pam discovered her love for photography within the confines of raising her family, the need to capture all the incredible moments and to preserve them for generations to come. Throughout the years she has been inspired by other individuals that share in her common passion. Primarily her work is heavily influenced by the creative imagery of God’s own hand and her ability to interpret it with a single-lens reflex camera; however her compelling hunger branches out to many of the mechanical masterpieces that were made by man as well.
Whether it’s her personal feelings that tell a story of what’s happening in her daily life, capturing the unique magic that we often overlook, or the natural idealistic beauty that becomes an art form all to itself; the beautiful side of life seems to be the creativeness within her soul. Not having a formal education in photography, Pam is not concerned with the rules of the elements that restrict creativities energy. In doing so she has given life to some incredible photographs that would never have been considered valuable content by the naysayers against the whimsical approach. Today she is well on her way to understand photography’s technical logic and has successfully incorporated it into her free-style perspective.
One of her other passions in life is Drag Racing. Several years ago she was invited to the guardrail and was given a professional camera to play with. Upon becoming familiar with the “barrier” environment, her equipment and the pecking order structure; it was immediately obvious that she was a natural at capturing the non-stop action. Today she is greatly respected by many of the veteran photographers of the sport and the racers alike because of her artistic reasoning behind the images she creates.
Her visual diary of any subject matter that lies before her always seeks to promote an aesthetic value that surpasses the level of the human experience. Its this same passion that manifested her inspiration. Each shot is a personal experience that is designed to instill an emotional reaction that is pleasing to the beholder. Most of all, Pam is inspired by her family, friends and those that encourage her to share her world with theirs. In doing so her goal is to put a warm smile in their hearts with memories that will last a lifetime.
